SCOTT BLINE – MY TOP 3 2018

Written by | Top 3 2018

Throughout December we’ll be showcasing work from across the community in a retrospective project dubbed “My Top 3 2018”.

Its the turn of Exclu debutant Scott Bline (@scott.bline) next in our series sharing their personal favourites from 2018 along with a few reason behind why he picked them. Its over to Scott to introduce his selection :

I’ve chosen these three since they represent my progression over the year, trying to figure out how to take captivating images. Also, the first two with the Macross fighter and Boruto became my favorite figures by far this year, and I ended up taking a lot of pictures with them.

The first image with Roy Fokker and Raijin is by far and away my favorite image that I took. I got extremely lucky with the fireworks capture and the smoke. This is from the middle of the year when I was experimenting with an off camera flash.

The second image is based on concept art for a Spider-Man movie. Boruto doesn’t get much love in the geek world, but this figure is amazing for creating detailed poses. This was near the end of summer, and I love how the eye immediately is drawn towards the Demogorgon’s claw.

The third is a recent shot, representative of where I am now. I tried to recreate a scene from A New Hope. This is when I started taking color grading more seriously, and I think it shows in the shot’s tones.
