In a bit of a surprise move, Sideshow Collectibles announced a sixth-scale Deluxe Luke Skywalker figure. The figure, which retails for $235, features Luke in his Return of the Jedi clothing and includes not only his Jedi robe but his Endor camo gear, including poncho, belt and a second sculpt wearing the non-removable Commando helmet.
The Deluxe version features:
- ROTJ Luke sculpt
- Luke wearing Commando helmet sculpt
- Black Jedi outfit and robe
- Belt with pouch and saber holder
- Gray tunic
- Camouflage poncho and belt
- Black boots
- lightsaber (non-illuminated) with removable blade
- DL-18 Blaster pistol
- Eleven hands
Expected to ship Dec. 2018 – Jan. 2019, it’s available for pre-order now from Sideshow.
With Hot Toys version of ROTJ Luke already available for preorder (shipping Jun-Aug 2018) this was an unexpected figure from Sideshow, who have been focusing on non-human Star Wars characters lately, including the bounty hunter line and Darth Maul. Hot Toys it seems, however, has decided to release the Endor Luke as a separate figure although it has not been officially introduced yet.
This is a nice looking sculpt from Sideshow and the inclusion of what is, after all, a poncho and a helmet to get the Endor look makes for a nice package for the price. It all comes down to small preferences!
